Well, the day could have been kinder... an Osmosis pump failed leaving them short of water... there was a point failure at loughborough which isolated 7 of the locomotives due to run and the persistent rain got heavier as the day wore on... inevitably the timetable fell apart so one steam train was replaced by a DMU and most of the afternoon the loco arriving wasn't what was expected.
On the plus side the cheese and onion rolls and soup in the Tea Room, seeing both the guest locomotives in fairly dry weather and the last train hauled double-headed by a pair of 9F's made the day a good'un anyway!
