Staple Island, Farne Islands: June 1st 2017

Every year, in early summer, 100's of thousands of Seabirds return to the Farne Isles to breed and raise their young. During the time they are there trips are avaiable t not only view the islands bu tto go ashore and walk around among the birds, many of whom are nesting within inches of the paths.

These images are all on Staple Island, the morning part of an all day bird watching trip to the Islands.
You can photograph the sites, the birds, but not the sounds and smells which all together add up to a wonderful experience. I really is a delight and a priviliege to be able to mix with the birds at such close quarters
