I always enjoy passing an hour or three in the car park hide at Calke... this visit however was quieter than usual, i suspect because the birds were hiding up after a busy spring breeding and (hopefully not) traces of avian flu which is decimating the seabird colonies

Greenfinch seem to be doing badly nationally... but they seem to be thriving around Calke!!
The rather fine pasties in the cafe afterwards are purely coincidental... but very enjoyable!!
